Sharod Williams joined the league in July of 2015 when he was named Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Communications.  In this role he was tasked with the promotion and development of the league through various forms of traditional and new media, as well as overseeing the Faculty Athletic Representative and Sports Information Director groups.

In July of 2017, Williams was promoted to the position of Assistant Commissioner for External Operations.  In his new role he will continue the delivery and oversight of the responsibilities of his previous position while taking on tasks including working with the conference’s newly formed Branding Committee and overseeing select Conference Carolinas Championships.  He will also serve as supervisor of the Conference Carolinas Internship Program and collaborate with the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 

Williams currently serves on the NCAA Division II Coaching Enhancement Grant Selection Committee, Division II Women's Lacrosse South Regional Advisory Committee, and is the Southeast Region Coordinator for the D2CCA women's basketball all-region team. He also served as a facilitator at the 2016 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Baltimore, Md. 

Williams comes to Conference Carolinas after working extensively in the Department of Athletics at Coker College where he served as the Assistant Director of Sports Information and Compliance and the SAAC advisor as well as holding numerous other positions since his sophomore year.

A native of Miami, Fla., Williams holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Communication and a Master of Science in Collegiate Athletic Administration from Coker College.  A member of the men’s basketball team during his time at Coker, Williams was a three-year captain, four-year letter winner, and was named to the All-Time Coker men’s basketball team in December 2016.
