CONFERENCE CAROLINAS ANNOUNCES CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS OF THE WEEK

Queens’ Hewitt Named Women's Runner of the Week

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Wednesday, October 19, 2011

 

High Point, N.C.> Queens University’s Kimone Hewitt has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's cross country Runner of the Week during week number seven in the 2011 season. The senior from Orange County, CA raced to a fifth place individual finish in a time of 17:40.56 in the Royal Cross Country Challenge helping to clinch the third place team finish for Queens University of Charlotte. Three of the top-five runners were unattached and the team finish was three spots better than last years in the Queens hosted events. Taking the team title was No. 3 Florida State while Elon Finished second. Queens was the top Division II finisher in the race. Queens' next race will be on Friday, October 21st in the Conference Carolinas meet at McAlpine Park in Charlotte.

Queens’ Duchampt Named Men’s Runner of the Week

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Wednesday, October 19, 2011

 

High Point, N.C.>  Queens University of Charlotte's Felix Duchampt has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's cross country Runner of the Week during week number seven in the 2011 season. Duchampt, a sophomore from Clermont Ferrand, France raced to a fourth place individual finish in a time of 24:41.34 in the Royal Cross Country Challenge last weekend. He helped the Royals to clinch the second place team finish, who faced stiff competition including a very talented Davidson squad that took the title and No. 11 Florida State. Queens' Duchampt was the first Division II competitor to complete the race. Queens' next race will be on Friday, October 21st in the Conference Carolinas meet at McAlpine Park in Charlotte
