Women’s Soccer Team
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The 2011 Daktronics NCAA Division II
All-Southeast Region Women’s Soccer Teams were released
Tuesday afternoon. Eight members of this year’s teams were
members of the 2010 teams, including this year’s Region
Player of the Year Catherine Hauck of Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Tramicka James of Tusculum College, Stephanie Lowery of Columbus
State University, and Morgan Mitchell and Kelli Bahr of Armstrong
Atlantic State University join Hauck on the first team again.
Britney Bennett of the University of North Carolina Pembroke rose
from second-team honors a year ago to first team this year.
The Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams are
voted on by the sports information directors of the Southeast
Region. The region is comprised of the Conference Carolinas, the
Peach Belt Conference, and the South Atlantic Conference.
Members of the first team are now eligible for Daktronics NCAA
Division II All-America honors.
The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world
leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for
virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is
voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports
Information Directors of America (D2SIDA), with the online
nomination and voting process powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM.
Hauck, a 5-foot-6 senior defender from Lake Mary, Fla., was
named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year for the
second straight season. She earned first-team All-SAC honors for
the fourth time. Hauck has led Lenoir-Rhyne to a 17-2-1 record
(9-0-0 in the SAC), the conference regular season title and a No. 5
national ranking. She is tied for second on the team in goals (11)
and is second in points (26) this year. Last season, she earned
All-American honors by Daktronics (2nd team) and the NSCAA (1st
team). Lenoir-Rhyne has a NCAA Division II National Tournament
third round match on Friday (Nov. 18) at Armstrong Atlantic State
University at 11 a.m. in Savannah, Ga.
