FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Tuesday, November 22, 2011

High Point, N.C. – King College’s Brian Hewitt has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's basketball Player of the Week during week number two of the 2011-2012 season.  The senior guard from Lexington, KY started all three games at the two-guard and shot the lights out of the gym, helping the Tornado go 3-0 last week all away from home. Hewitt shot 50 percent from the field over a three-game span and shot .524 from distance. Thirty-three of his 48 points came via the three ball. Hewitt led the Tornado in scoring against UVA-Wise and served as the team's leading in rebounding against Carson-Newman (8). Two of King's three game were decided by double digits with the third being decided by eight points in that stretch. King is 4-1 overall in the season.
