Conference Carolinas Announces Basketball Players of the Week
North Greenville’s Cotton Named Women's Basketball
Player of the Week

High Point, N.C. – North Greenville’s Krisceda
Cotton has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference
Carolinas women's basketball Player of the Week during week number
six of the 2011-2012 season. This is the second consecutive week
she has earned this honor. Cotton, a junior forward from
Gaston, S.C., recorded her first career 20/20 game with a 26-point,
20-rebound performance in North Greenville's 94-91 loss to Mars
Hill in double overtime. She shot 10-of-24 (41.6%) from the floor
as well as 2-5 (40%) from three-point range. Cotton turned in a
complete game performance as she also registered four assists and
five steals in 47 minutes of action. North Greenville is 6-3
overall in the season and 1-0 in league play.

Barton’s Boston Named Men's Basketball Player of
the Week

High Point, N.C. – Barton College’s Gerald Boston
has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas
men's basketball Player of the Week during week number six of the
2011-2012 season. On Saturday, junior guard Gerald Boston
(Burlington, N.C.) helped lead the Barton College men's basketball
team into the holiday winter break with the league’s best win
percentage. Boston scored a game-high 25 points on 8-12 (66.7%)
field goal shooting and a perfect 9-9 (100%) free throw precision
to lead the Bulldogs to a 90-70 in-state victory over Fayetteville
State University. Boston did a little bit of everything for Barton
by handing out a game-high eight assists, making a game-high five
steals and grabbing three rebounds. The 5-foot-10 guard had an
8-to-2 assist to turnover ratio as Barton finished 2011 and
non-conference play with an 8-2 overall record. Boston leads the
Bulldogs with 15.5 points per game and leads the conference with
2.9 steals per game.
