Barton's Boston Named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

High Point, N.C. – Barton College's Gerald Boston has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's basketball Player of the Week during week number six of the 2011-2012 season. On Saturday, junior guard Gerald Boston (Burlington, N.C.) helped lead the Barton College men's basketball team into the holiday winter break with the league's best win percentage. Boston scored a game-high 25 points on 8-12 (66.7%) field goal shooting and a perfect 9-9 (100%) free throw precision to lead the Bulldogs to a 90-70 in-state victory over Fayetteville State University. Boston did a little bit of everything for Barton by handing out a game-high eight assists, making a game-high five steals and grabbing three rebounds. The 5-foot-10 guard had an 8-to-2 assist to turnover ratio as Barton finished 2011 and non-conference play with an 8-2 overall record. Boston leads the Bulldogs with 15.5 points per game and leads the conference with 2.9 steals per game.
