Conferencec Carolinas Announces Cross Country Runners of the Week

Skinner Named Women's Runner of the Week

College’s Erica Skinner has been selected as the NCAA
Division II Conference Carolinas women's cross country Runner of
the Week during week number five in the 2011 season. This is the
second time she has received this award this season. The sophomore
remains undefeated against NCAA Division II opposition through five
races in 2011 after earning another top-10 finish on Friday at the
Great American Cross Country Festival at WakeMed Soccer Park in
Cary, N.C. Skinner sped through the endurance race in 18:25, which
is her third sub-19 minute 5k of the season. Skinner placed seventh
overall out of 53 harriers and was only defeated by four DI runners
and two unattached participants. The Hopedale, Ohio, product
averaged a 5:56 mile pace.

Frantom Named Men’s Runner of the
Week

King College’s
Spencer Frantom has been
selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's cross
country Runner of the Week during week number five in the 2011
season. Frantom, a sophomore from Morristown, TN finished
11th out of 285 competitors in the blue race of the
Greater Louisville Classic and was three seconds shy of finishing
within the top-10 in the race. Frantom was just 16 seconds off the
pace from his school record-setting performance two weeks prior at
the Clemson Classic and helped lead the Tornado to a
12th out of 33 team finish.
