CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The Queens University of Charlotte Men’s Cross Country Team
turned in an average time of 31:53.66 helping the Royals win their
fifth consecutive NCAA Division II Southeast Region Cross Country
Championship title at McAlpine Creek Park this morning. Also
earning a spot in the national race is Mount Olive College who
finished with a score of 82. King took the third place spot with a
score of 114.
Pardon Ndhlovu of UNC-Pembroke took the individual title with a
time of 30:55.5. Queens’
Felix
Duchampt (Clermont Ferrand, France, Lycée Jeanne d'Arc
) raced in at a time of 31:09.5 for second place, while
teammate
Chris
Enriquez (Downey, Calif., Warren) finished third at
31:18.5. UNC-Pembroke’s Chris Schroll (31:19.7)
and
Simon
Stuetzel (Meinborn, Germany)(31:37.8) of the Royals
wrapped up the top-five.
Anthony
Mallory (Merced, Calif., Golden Valley Merced
) (31:56.7) and
Benny
Perez (Ceres, Calif., Ceres ) (33:25.8) concluded
Queens’ five in seventh and 46
th,
respectively.
Ndhlovo and Schroll each advance to the NCAA Championships as
individuals.
The Trojans were able to clinch the second team berth to the
national race on the backs of James Maloney, Ronnie Sturgill and
Dalton Souza who finished in tenth, 11
thand

th, respectively. The race will take place on November
19 in Spokane, Wash.
The top 25 runners were named to the all-region team. Southeast
Region Coach of the Year and Runner of the Year awards will be
announced on Monday.
