Mount Olive’s McIntyre Named Women’s Soccer Player of the Week

McIntyre has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference
Carolinas women’s soccer Player of the Week during week
number two in the 2011 season. McIntyre recorded 10 saves in Mount
Olive's 1-1 double overtime tie against nationally 23rd-ranked UNC
Pembroke, then posted a shutout against previously unbeaten Lincoln
Memorial as the Trojans went 1-0-1 for the week. McIntyre posted a
0.45 goals against average for the week and limited UNC Pembroke to
a single goal in 110 minutes. McIntyre faced 19 shots in the match,
11 on goal. UNC Pembroke entered the match with 17 goals in its
first two matches. The tie was Mount Olive's best-ever result in
program history against a nationally ranked team. In the Trojans'
1-0 win over perennial Southeast Region power Lincoln Memorial,
McIntyre posted her 13th career shutout and lowered her season GAA
to 0.93. UNC Pembroke and Lincoln Memorial entered the week with a
combined 5-0 record. Mount Olive currently stands at 1-1-1 (0-0
conference) for the year.
