Conferencec Carolinas Announces Cross Country Runners of the Week

 

Queens’ Guerra Named Women's Runner of the Week

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Wednesday, September 21, 2011

 

High Point, N.C.> Queens University of Charlotte’s Andrea Guerra has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's cross country Runner of the Week during week number three in the 2011 season. The Queens University of Charlotte women's cross country team competed at the App State Mountaineer Open on Friday as the only Division II team in the meet. Andrea Guerra of Anaheim, Calif., led the Royals to a third place finish. Ohio State University took the title with a perfect score of 15 while Appalachian State University edged the Royals for second, 61 to 79. Guerra was 10th out of 56 overall with a time of 18:29.4.

Coker’s Cain Named Men’s Runner of the Week

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Wednesday, September 21, 2011

 

High Point, N.C.>  Coker College’s Brandon Cain has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's cross country Runner of the Week during week number three in the 2011 season. Cain, a freshman from Graham, NC, was the Cobras leading runner at the Bridgestone-Pacer Invitational hosted by USC Aiken. Cain ran the 8k event in 27:14 to finish 4th out of 59 runners and help lead the Cobras to a fifth-place team finish.
