Queens’ Bailey Named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

High Point, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte’s Daniel Bailey has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's basketball Player of the Week during week number seven of the 2011-2012 season. Senior guard Daniel Bailey averaged 21.3 points over the last four games on Queens University of Charlotte's schedule to help lead his team to 3-0 start in conference play. The Royals were last defeated in a tight contest with Lynn University that saw extra time just before the holiday break. Bailey netted a season-high 27 points in the loss. Queens faced Barton in their first game of the New Year with Bailey leading the way again with 22 points. Bailey then turned around and scored 18 points in the Royals' win against St. Andrews. In Queens' comeback win over Limestone at the close of the week, Bailey knocked down two key baskets in Queens' run enabling the Royals to take their first lead of the game in the final minutes of play. The Irmo, S.C., native is currently the third leading scorer in the conference averaging 19.3 points per game. Queens is 8-5 overall in the season and 3-0 in league play.
