KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team placed a trio of athletes on the 2011 NSCAA Women's College Scholar all-South team, announced NSCAA officials Tuesday.

Senior Mary Dorn (Shallotte, N.C.) earned a spot on the second team, while fellow seniors Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.) and Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) were each named to the third team. This marks the first time in program history that the Bobcats have garnered individual scholastic recognition from the NSCAA, as LMC ranked third in the region with three selections.

Lees-McRae (13-5-3) enjoyed one of the best seasons in program history this fall, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history after capturing the program's first Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament championships since 2000. The Bobcats posted a 13-5-3 overall record while going 11-1 in league play, setting a program mark for most conference wins in a season.

Dorn continues to add to her individual awards bouquet from this season, garnering scholastic honors from the NSCAA for the first time in her career after earning a spot on the Conference Carolinas all-Academic team for the second straight season. The Shallotte, N.C. native also received all-conference recognition for the third consecutive year this fall, earning a spot on the first time for the second straight season. Dorn is currently maintaining a 3.62 grade point average as an accounting major.

Santerre is a two-time Capital One Academic all-District III selection, becoming the first player in program history to earn such honors after garnering second-team recognition last season before earning a spot on the first team this fall. A native of Port Republic, Md., Santerre was also recognized on the all-Conference Carolinas First team this fall, in addition to earning a spot on the NSCAA all-Southeast Region Third team. The senior midfielder is currently maintaining a 3.92 GPA as a psychology major and sociology minor.

Rich caps a tremendous career with the Bobcats, finishing her senior season ranked second in program history in match-winning goals (17), sixth in goals (38), seventh in assists (27), and eighth in points (103). The Arlington Heights, Ill. native is a three-time all-conference selection, and the only player in program history to earn Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America honors, garnering third team recognition in 2009. Rich is currently maintaining a 3.67 GPA as an accounting major.

Lees-McRae is expected to return 17 letter-winners from this year's Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament championship squad, including Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) and sophomore forward MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.).
