Limestone Basketball Teams Face Coker at Time Warner Arena Saturday

The Limestone College men's and women's basketball teams will face off against Coker College in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader at Time Warner Cable Arena, home of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, Saturday, January 28th prior to the Bobcats hosting John Wall and the Washington Wizards. The women's game tips-off at 12:15 p.m. while the men follow with game time scheduled for 2:15 p.m.

The Cobras will be the home team for both games. Last season when Coker hosted the Saints, both games were decided at the buzzer with the women taking a 61-59 loss while the men picked up a 62-61 win as Danny Friend hit a fall-away jumper as the clock expired.

The women's team makes an appearance at the 19,000-seat arena for the first time since the Saints defeated Lees-McRae 70-66 on February 10, 2006. Limestone, who has won 11 of their last 12 conference regular season games, looks to maintain their recent dominance over the Cobras as they have notched an 11-1 record against the team from Hartsville, S.C. since the start of the 2005-06 season.

The men take the hardwood at Time Warner Cable Arena for the second consecutive season following a thrilling 105-104 triple overtime loss to Catawba a year ago. Limestone has won six of the last eight meetings against the Cobras, including a 68-59 win in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship Game last year, and holds a 34-16 advantage in the all-time series.

The Charlotte Bobcats take on the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m.

Fans wishing to cheer on the Saints in Charlotte must purchase a ticket to the Bobcats vs. Wizards NBA game for access. The ticket for the NBA game at 7pm will also serve as the ticket to the Limestone games at 12:15pm and 2:15pm.

Seating for both Limestone vs. Coker games will be based on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Fans are not required to sit in the seats listed on thier ticket for the college double-headers, and fans are able to sit as close to the action as they choose.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Tickets are now available for the Coker men’s and women’s basketball games at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. The Cobras will take on the Saints of Limestone College in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at the home of the Charlotte Bobcats, Time Warner Cable Arena.

Ticket packages start at $21 per person and include admission to both Coker games and the Charlotte Bobcats versus the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m.

The Cobras and the Saints will tip-off under the lights of the NBA arena prior to the start of the Bobcats game against the Wizards. The women's game will begin at 12:15 p.m., followed by the men's game at 2:15 p.m.

It will be an exciting day of basketball with two very good Conference Carolinas schools facing off. In the women's game, fans will see the new and improved Cobra women's team taking the court against one of the top teams in Conference Carolinas, the Limestone Saints.

The men's game will feature a rematch of last season's Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship game between the Cobras and the Saints. The Saints won that game, but Coker and Limestone split their regular season matchup.

Following the Coker games, alumni and friends of Coker are invited to join the Coker Alumni Associaiton and the Cobra Club at Cosmos Cafe on the Stage for a special reception starting at 4:30 p.m. All those who purchase tickets are able to attend.

Tickets will be available for pick-up at the Coker Athletics office one week prior to the game or they can be picked-up at the will call box on the day of the game at Time Warner Cable Arena.
