Pfeiffer’ Hollinger Named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

– Pfeiffer University’s Reggie Hollinger has been
selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's
basketball Player of the Week during week number nine of the
2011-2012 season. Reggie Hollinger (Orlando, FL) put together his
best scoring week of the year averaging 28.5 points, five rebounds
and three steals per contest in a 1-1 league week for the Falcons.
Opening the week against Barton, Hollinger dropped a game-high 27
points with six boards in just 25 minutes handing the Bulldogs just
their fourth loss of the season in a 100-89 victory. Hollinger shot
66% from the field going 6-of-9 from the floor adding a 15-of-17
night at the free throw line for an 88% mark. The junior guard also
added a pair of assists and steals in the win. At North Greenville
on Saturday, Hollinger torched the Crusaders for another game-high
30 points with four more boards and four steals in 32 minutes of
action. Hollinger shot 50% from the field with an 8-for-16 shooting
afternoon with a pair of triples and a 12-for-16 day at the charity
stripe. For the week, Hollinger totaled a 56% shooting week going
14-of-25 from the floor while amassing an 82% free throw percentage
draining 27 attempts in 33 chances. Hollinger continues to lead the
team inside conference play averaging 22.3 points per game against
league foes. Hollinger and the Falcons are back in East division
play on Tuesday heading to Coker before hosting rival Belmont Abbey
on Saturday inside the Merner Gym. Pfeiffer is 9-8 overall on the
season and 3-4 in league play.
