Coker’s Lau Named Women's Basketball Player of the Week
High Point, N.C. – Coker College’s Amber Lau has
been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's
basketball Player of the Week during week number ten of the
2011-2012 season. Amber Lau averaged a double-double for the week
as she led the Coker women's basketball teams to a pair of
Conference Carolinas victories, including a 60-58 win over
previously unbeaten Limestone College. Lau was the driving force
behind the Cobras win over Pfeiffer earlier in the week with 23
points and 12 rebounds and then added 11 points and eight rebounds
in the Cobras win over Limestone at Time Warner Cable Arena in
Charlotte. The wins improve the Cobras winning streak to three
games and gives Coker victories in five of their last six games.
Lau is the Cobras leading scorer on the year with an average of
17.1 points per game. Coker is 5-13 overall on the season and
5-4 in league play.
