Fall Championships Continue with WVB Serving-Up Quarterfinals Saturday; Link to Conference Carolinas ‘Fall Championships Central’ for Complete Details
High Point, N.C. - Conference Carolinas fall sport championships
continue this Saturday with the start of the women's volleyball
championships. Teams’ regular seasons come to an end with the
championship culmination as the conference tournament title will be
back on the line. The fall conference championships started a
few weeks ago with cross country, followed by this past
weekend's men’s and women’s soccer tournaments. The
women’s volleyball tournament starts November 10th and
completes the fall season for the league with winter sports

Women’s & men’s cross country were the first
sports to get the tournament action started as they had their
championship meet Friday, October 19th. The King
women and Mount Olive men took team titles as Belmont
Abbey played host to the championships this year at
the Frank Liske Park course in Concord,

Women’s soccer quarterfinal games started Monday 10/29/12
with the top eight teams battling for the right to claim the
championship trophy. Belmont Abbey's women came out on top
taking a 1-0 victory over Pfeiffer and the automatic conference bid
to the NCAA Championship tournament. The men’s soccer
quarterfinals started the following day 10/30/12 culminating with
their championship final on Sunday as Limestone beat Barton 6-1 to
take home the conference tournament trophy. Link to:

Women’s volleyball teams start their championship quests
with first round games beginning Saturday, November 10
continuing play through the championship on Saturday, November
17. The tournament is set for teams to play at the higher
seeded teams home court throughout the tournament, with pairings
being finalized after league regular season games are completed

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic
conference currently made up of 12 teams from North Carolina, South
Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton
College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College,
Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone
College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer
University, and Queens University of Charlotte.
