IWLCA Division II Poll, Week 11
Adelphi returns to No. 1; three schools boast first-place
votes

The
Adelphi Panthers returned to No. 1 this week, taking over the top
spot from NE-10 rival Le Moyne, the team that had supplanted them
at No. 1 two weeks ago. Both the Northeast-10 and PSAC claim five
schools each, while the ECC boasts a pair of schools in the top-15.
Bloomsburg, the 2012 PSAC champion, moved into the rankings at No.
12 while PSAC finalist Mercyhurst returned to the poll, landing at
No. 14.
All
five NE-10 schools sit in the top 10. The league is led by No. 1
Adelphi and No. 2 Le Moyne; Stonehill moved up to No. 6 while New
Haven moved to No. 8 and Bentley held at No. 9.
With the addition of
Bloomsburg and Mercyhurst, the PSAC also has five ranked
institutions. West Chester leads the way at No. 7. Lock Haven just
edged Bloomsburg for the No. 11 position, and Mercyhurst came in at
No. 14, just in front of No. 15 Gannon.
The ECC has two teams
in the rankings, starting with C. W. Post at No. 5 while ECC
Champion Dowling moved into the top-10 at No. 10. Limestone from
the Conference Carolinas moved up to No. 4. Two Florida schools
remain in the poll, with Rollins picking up a pair of first-place
nominations and moving up to No. 3. Florida Southern rose one spot
to land at No. 13.
The NCAA tournament
starts on Saturday with C. W. Post hosting Adelphi and Limestone
welcoming West Chester. Rollins will face the winner of the
Limestone/West Chester matchup next week in the semifinals, while
Le Moyne will take on the winner of the Adelphi/C. W. Post game in
the other semifinal.
The IWLCA poll has no
bearing on the selection or seeding in the NCAA
tournament.
This is the eleventh
weekly poll for the IWLCA for the 2012 season; the next final poll
will be released May 28.

IWLCA Division II Poll, Week 10
Le Moyne returns to No. 1 as four schools have first-place
votes

The
Le Moyne Dolphins retook the No. 1 ranking this week, but four
teams were tabbed for the slot as the rae for No. 1 tightened last
week. Adelphi moved to No. 2 despite four first-place votes while
both C. W. Post and Limestone picked up two No. 1 nominations. The
same 15 schools remained in the rankings from last week.
The
NE-10 continues to lead all conferences with seven ranked teams,
including a 1-2 start with Le Moyne and Adelphi. New Haven (No. 7),
Stonehill (No. 8), and Bentley (No. 9) form a block in the top-10,
giving the league half of the top-10 in the poll. Merrimack moved
to No. 13 and St. Anselm remained in the poll at No. 15.
The
PSAC claimed three schools in the poll, starting with West Chester
at No. 6. Lock Haven rounded out the top-10 at No. 10, and Gannon
moved up two slots to land at No. 12.
The
ECC has two teams in the rankings, starting with C. W. Post remains
at No. 3 while Dowling just misses the top 10 at No. 11. Limestone
from the Conference Carolinas picked up two first-place votes but
moved to No. 5. The two Florida schools remain in the poll, with
Rollins dropping to No. 4 and Florida Southern holding at No.
14.
On
Wednesday, the NE-10 tournament starts off as No. 8 Stonehill hosts
No. 13 Merrimack and No. 9 Bentley hosts No. 7 New Haven. On
Saturday, No. 1 Le Moyne hosts the semifinals and the Dolphins play
the winner of New Haven/Bentley while No. 2 Adelphi plays the
winner of Stonehill/Merrimack. The same day No. 3 C. W. Post plays
No. 11 Dowling.
This is the tenth
weekly poll for the IWLCA for the 2012 season; the next
regular-season poll will be released May 8.

The
Panthers of Adelphi moved back into the No. 1 spot, but three teams
snared a first-place vote this week in the rankings for Week 9. The
Rollins Tars, the only undefeated team in Division II, moved up to
a program-high No. 2 as well as the first votes for the top ranking
in program history. LeMoyne, the top-ranked team over the last
three weeks, fell to No. 4 but still picked up four first-place
votes, keeping the schools bunched at the top.
The
NE-10 continues to lead all conferences as the league has seven
ranked teams, starting with No. 1 Adelphi. LeMoyne sits at No. 4,
while New Haven (No. 6) and Stonehill (No. 7) both hold steady;
Bentley rounds out the top-10 at No. 10. Merrimack remains at No.
12 and St. Anselm stays at No. 13.
The PSAC has three
ranked schools, with West Chester moving up to No. 8 and Lock Haven
rising to No. 9. Gannon remains in the rankings for a second
consecutive week, moving up to No. 14.

are on the slate, starting with the top-ranked Panthers hosting No.
5 C. W. Post. No. 6 New Haven welcomes No. 13 St. Anselm and No. 4
LeMoyne takes on No. 7 Stonehill in New York.
This is the ninth
weekly poll for the IWLCA for the 2012 season; the next
regular-season poll will be released May 1.

LeMoyne takes all 15 first-place votes for a third straight
week

The
Dolphins of LeMoyne maintained their grip on the No. 1 ranking by
taking all 15 first-place votes for a third consecutive week. At
the other end of the poll, Gannon and Queens (NY) move into the
rankings, tying for the No. 15 spot. This is the first time that
the Knights of Queens have received a top-15 ranking in school
history in women’s lacrosse.
The
NE-10 continues to lead all conferences as the league has seven
ranked teams, starting with No. 1 Le Moyne and No. 2 Adelphi. New
Haven (No. 6) moves up to edge Stonehill (No. 7) while Bentley
holds at No. 8. Merrimack moves to No. 12 and St. Anselm holds at
No. 13.
The
PSAC claims three ranked schools with the addition of Gannon; West
Chester (No. 9) and Lock Haven (No. 10) hold from last week while
Gannon moves in at No. 15.
The ECC also has three
teams in the top 15; C. W. Post holds at No. 5 and Dowling moves up
to land just outside the top-10 at No. 11 while Queens (NY) moves
into the rankings for the first time at No. 15.
Limestone from the
Conference Carolinas remains at No. 4, while two Florida schools
remain in the poll as Rollins stays at No. 3 and Florida Southern
moves up one spot to land at No. 14.
On Wednesday, No. 1 Le
Moyne hosts No. 6 New Haven in a top-10 matchup between NE-10
teams. On Friday, the two top-10 PSAC schools meet as No. 9 West
Chester hosts No. 10 Lock Haven. On Saturday, another top-10 NE-10
tilt is on the books as No. 2 Adelphi travels to face No. 8
Bentley. A pair of ECC-NE-10 games between top-10 opponents are
also scheduled for Saturday as No. 5 C. W. Post welcomes No. 7
Stonehill and No. 11 Dowling hosts No. 12 Merrimack. On Sunday, the
No. 7 Skyhawks remain in New York to take on poll newcomer and
15th-ranked Queens.
This is the eighth
weekly poll for the IWLCA for the 2012 season; the next
regular-season poll will be released April 24.

consecutive week as all 15 schools remained in the ranking from
last week. Only three schools moved from their positions in last
week’s poll as there was little movement.
The
NE-10 continues to lead all conferences as the league has seven
ranked teams, starting with No. 1 Le Moyne and No. 2 Adelphi.
Stonehill remains at No. 6 and New Haven holds at No. 7 with
Bentley remaining at No. 8. Merrimack sits just outside the top-10
at No. 11 and St. Anselm moves up to No. 13.
The PSAC’s three
schools are led by No. 9 West Chester; Lock Haven remains in the
top-10 at No. 10 and IUP moves to No. 14.

LeMoyne sweeps all 15 first-place votes

took total command of the top spot with a sweep of all 15
first-place votes this week, giving the Dolphins their first
undisputed No. 1 ranking. Rollins moves up to their highest ranking
in school history at No. 3 while IUP rose three spots to land at
No. 12.
The
NE-10 leads all conferences with seven ranked schools; five of the
seven comprise half of the top-10. No. 1 LeMoyne is followed by No.
2 Adelphi; Stonehill at No. 6 leads a pack of conference schools
with New Haven at No. 7 and Bentley at No. 8. Merrimack holds at
No. 11 and St. Anselm sits at No. 14.

LeMoyne increases hold on No. 1; PSAC picks up two schools in

LeMoyne Dolphins maintained sole possession of the top spot in the
IWLCA rankings for Division II, picking up five first-place votes
to put distance between them and the rest of the pack. Two PSAC
schools enter the top-15 as Bloomsburg and IUP tie for the No. 15
spot, giving the conference four ranked schools.
The
NE-10 continues to lead all leagues, with seven ranked schools,
including five schools ranked in the top-10. LeMoyne and Adelphi
hold on to the 1-2 spots while Stonehill improves to No. 6 and New
Haven rises to No. 7. Bentley slides into the top-10 at No. 8.
Merrimack moves to No. 11 and St. Anselm improves to No.
13.
The PSAC now has four
ranked schools, with West Chester (No. 9) and Lock Haven (No. 10)
both remaining in the top-10 in the nation. Bloomsburg and IUP both
enter the rankings at No. 15, the first entry for either school
this season.
