Spokane-Bound Again! Trojans Win NCAA II Men's Cross Country Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – During his interview for the Conference Carolinas' "Getting To Know Your Student-Athletes" feature, Dylan Lafond said the farthest he had traveled was to Pueblo, Colo. In two weeks, he'll be able to change his response to Spokane, Wash.

Dylan Lafond finished first out of 187 runners and nationally 12th-ranked Mount Olive claimed its first regional cross country title in 12 years as the Trojans won the 2013 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Southeast Regional Saturday at Charlotte, N.C. The win advances the Trojans to the NCAA II Men's Cross Country Championship for the third consecutive year.

Men’s cross country advances to NCAA Division II Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team finished second in the NCAA Southeast Regional meet on Saturday, advancing to the NCAA Division II Championship for the second consecutive season.

King, the third-ranked team in the Southeast Region, narrowly edged second-ranked Georgia Regents University Augusta by two points for the second spot in the meet. The top three teams all advance to the Division II Championship on November 23 in Spokane, Wash. Conference Carolinas champions Mount Olive won the event with a total score of 53, placing all five scorers in the top 22 positions.

Witt wins NCAA Southeast Region Championship, Tornado finish sixth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the first time in school history, a King University cross country runner has won an NCAA Regional title.

Senior Hannah Witt finished the six kilometer NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in 21:46.0, nearly 26 seconds faster than her next closest competitor, to take the individual title. Witt led the race from start to finish, more than doubling her advantage from 10 seconds at the halfway mark.

SUTHERLAND QUALIFIES FOR NCAA NATIONALS

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Converse College Cross Country team competed at McAlpine Creek Park this morning for the 2013 Division II Cross Country Southeast Regionals. Ashly Sutherland would become the first Converse cross country runner to qualify for 2013 NCAA Cross Country National Championships in Spokane, WA.
