Joneiqua Gary Tied For Fifth In Nation In Three-Pointers Per Game

MOUNT OLIVE, NC - Joneiqua Gary spends her second straight week in the top 10 and vaults into a tie for fifth in the nation in three-point field goals per game in this week's NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Statistics Report. Gary was ranked ninth in last week's report.

A 5-7 senior guard from Norfolk, Va., Gary is averaging exactly 4.0 three-pointers per contest. She hit seven 3-pointers, including the game winner, in the Trojans' 54-53 win over then-nationally 20th-ranked USC Aiken November 9. Gary came within two 3's of matching the school record for most three-pointers in a game.

Pfeiffer Duo Rank Among Nation's Elite

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer freshman standout Mike Smith ranks fifth in the nation in scoring and sophomore teammate Silvere Aluko is second in blocked shots. Smith is the only freshman in the top 50 in scoring, averaging 27.2 points per game, while Aluko's 4.0 blocks per game put him behind only Jerry Hampton of LeMoyne-Owen.

Smith has been a prolific addition to the Falcons squad. The Lexington, KY native has scored over 20 points in each of his last five contests, including a career-high 37 points against Mars Hill on Nov. 30. He currently leads Conference Carolinas in points per game and is second in field goals made (57), free throws made (46), and steals (16). For the season, Smith is shooting 53.8 percent from the field, 76.7 percent from the free throw line, and averages 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.  He ranks 13th in the country in field goals made and 28th in steals.

Bombs Away! Limestone's PJ Foster Leads Division II in Total Three-Pointers and Threes Made Per Game

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Limestone senior guard PJ Foster (Leesburg, Fla.) has been a deep threat all season long and stretched opposing defenses – and for good reason as he currently leads all of NCAA Division II in both total threes (37) and three-pointers per game (5.29) as released by the NCAA on Monday, December 2.

Foster, who is currently averaging 20.7 points and 4.0 assists, has connected on at least two threes in all seven games this season and drained seven in a game three-times. He accomplished that feat against UNC Pembroke (11/15), Southern Wesleyan (11/20) and North Georgia (11/27).
