Conference Carolinas has 4 named to 2012-13 Daktronics All-Southeast Region Women’s Basketball Team

HIGH POINT, N.C.- Barton College junior guard Nyeshea Willie was the lone Conference Carolinas representative selected to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region First Team. Willie was the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.

Willie has been Barton's offensive catalyst to a fifth consecutive 20-win season by finishing the regular season ranked first in the conference and 18th nationally averaging 18.6 points per game. Willie also ranks in the top-10 of the conference in free throw percentage at 84.1% (5th in the league/39th nationally), field goal percentage at 43.0% (7th/116th) and 2.31 steals per game (8th/91st).

The second team included: Pfeiffer's Brittany Cox, a two-time CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-American sporting a 3.96 grade point average and third on Pfeiffer's All-time Career Scoring list with 1,637 points; Mount Olive's Tamara Nesmith, who ranks among the top six in the conference in four statistical categories. She's fourth in scoring (16.6 points per game), fourth in rebounds (9.2 per game), sixth in assists (3.9) and sixth in field goal percentage (.486); and Coker's Autumn Lau who averaged 18 points, which was third-best in the conference, seven rebounds and just under two blocks per game. She was second in the conference in total blocks, with 56.

Barton, Pfeiffer, and Mount Olive will be representing the Conference Carolinas, along with Limestone, this weekend in the NCAA Tournament. Live coverage, game times and stats can be found here.
