Limestone Ranked #2, Pfeiffer Ranked #8 in IWLCA Weekly Rankings
The LIU Post Pioneers swept all 15 first-place votes for a
fourth consecutive week and Limestone remained at No. 2 as all 15
schools remained in the top-15. There was little movement in the
poll as only two schools switched positions; the
Northeast-10 continues to lead all conferences with five ranked
teams while the PSAC has three schools ranked in the poll and the
ECC and Conference Carolinas each claim two schools. The only
change in the poll from last week includes New Haven moving up one
spot to No. 13 while Bentley slides down one to No. 14.
The
NE-10 has three schools in the top-10, starting with LeMoyne at No.
4. The Panthers of Adelphi sit right behind the Dolphins at No. 5
while Stonehill remains at No. 9. New Haven moved up to No. 13
while Bentley moved down to No. 14.
Lock
Haven continues to lead the PSAC schools at No. 6 while West
Chester sits right behind them at No. 7 and IUP remained at No. 12.
Representing the ECC, LIU Post remained a consensus No. 1 and
Dowling held fast at No. 11. Limestone from the Conference
Carolinas remained at No. 2 while Pfeiffer held steady at No. 8.
Lindenwood from the WILA remains in the poll as the Lions stay at
No. 15. Rollins, an independent in lacrosse, remained at No. 3
while Florida Southern, also an independent in lacrosse, remains in
the top-10 at No. 10.
The NCAA tournament begins this week and eight ranked teams are
in action on Saturday. Top-ranked LIU Post hosts No. 9 Stonehill
and No. 4 LeMoyne welcomes No. 5 Adelphi in the north portion of
the bracket while No. 2 Limestone hosts conference rival and
eighth-ranked Pfeiffer in one quarterfinal and No. 3 Rollins
welcomes No. 6 Lock Haven in the other quarterfinal.
This is the eleventh weekly poll for the IWLCA for the 2013
season; the next weekly poll will be released May 28.
