HIGH POINT, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive Trojans have been selected to finish as regular season champions in the Conference Carolinas Coaches Preseason Poll. Defending regular season Conference Carolinas co-champion University of Mount Olive returns three full-time starters from last year's squad, including All-Conference first team guard Dontrell Brite. Brite averaged 16.2 points and 3.5 assists per game last season. With the graduation of Trojan all-time assists leader Dory Hines, Brite is likely to see more time running the point.

Also returning are Dominique Reed (10.2 ppg) and Kendall Hargrove (9.4 ppg), who is also the Trojans' top returning rebounder with 7.4 boards per contest. Jordan McCain was the Trojans' "sixth man" last year, averaging 11.1 points per game off the bench. Forward Mike Moore will give the Trojans a presence in the paint, as well as provide an outside shooting threat. John Wieland tied a school record with nine three-pointers in a single game last season.

Limestone College has been chosen to finish second as voted on by the league's ten men's basketball coaches. The Saints are coming off a 21-9 campaign that featured a championship run through the Conference Carolinas Tournament and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Limestone will look to build off two consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament with a wealth of talent and experience returning for the 2014-15 season.

Senior guard Asaad Woods (12.2 ppg) and sophomore forward Shaq Dance (12.1 ppg) are the leading returning scorers for the Saints. Woods brought down six rebounds per game, good for second most on the team. Limestone is also expecting an immediate impact from junior forward Brolin Floyd, previously of Liberty University. Floyd made 29 starts for the Flames in the 2008-09 season, averaging six points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Head coach Brandon Scott returns for his seventh season with the Saints and will look to quickly reach the 100-win mark with a 96-76 overall record during his tenure in Gaffney

The King University men's basketball team finished in third place, only one game out of first, in the Conference Carolinas standings for the second straight season in 2013-14, and King is selected to finish third again in 2014-15 in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Tornado advanced to the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game before falling to Limestone College.

Barton, North Greenville, Erskine, Belmont Abbey, Pfeiffer, and Lees-McRae, rounded out the rest of the preseason poll respectively.
