King's Thorpe and Limestone's Kennington selected to Daktronics All-Southeast Region Team

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University women's soccer player Rachel Thorpe was named first team All-Conference Carolinas a couple weeks ago, and now she can add another award to her collection. The junior was selected Daktronics All-Southeast Region after ranking among the NCAA Division II leaders in goals scored. Thorpe led Conference Carolinas with 15 goals, a mark that also ranks 14th in all of NCAA Division II. Her 31 points ranked second in the league and her average of 1.72 points per game was good enough for 27th in the country. She also ranked 15th in the nation in goals per game, netting 0.833 goals per contest.

Limestone’s Leah Kennington Selected to Second Team All-Southeast Region Team


 

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College women's soccer player Leah Kennington (Heath Springs, S.C.) has been named to the 2014 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Team as announced on Monday, November 24. She earned Second-Team honors. Kennington, the 2014 Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, came up large on the defensive side of the ball during her junior season, helping to guide the Saints to a second-place finish in the league standings for the first time in team history.
