Reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, Barton College sophomore, Chris Flemmings has been named to the 2014 DII Bulletin All American Honorable Mention Team, announced on Monday.
The Cary, N.C., resident had a spectacular season. Flemmings was selected as the 2014 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and All-Conference Carolinas First Team. Flemmings ranked fourth in the league in scoring (19.6 ppg) and eighth in rebounding (6.8). He also ranked seventh in the conference in 3-pointers made (67) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (40.9).
These honors also contributed to him being named to the NABC Coaches' Division II All-District Second Team for the Southeast Region and to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Second Team by the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
The 6-5 guard was at his best down the stretch, averaging 27.4 points per game over Barton's last five regular-season games to help the Bulldogs clinch a share of the Conference Carolinas regular-season title for the second straight year. Flemmings was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season.
