Boxscore
GAFFNEY, S.C. – No. 2 Limestone (18-1, 6-0
CC) could not recover from an early burst of five goals as No. 6
Lindenwood (15-3, 5-0 RMAC) delivered a stunning 14-8 victory in an
NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament game on Saturday, May
10.
Sophomore attack Carleigh
Davis (Eldersburg, Md.) led the Saints with three goals
and an assist while sophomore midfielder Taylor
Cline (Hagerstown, Md.) finished with three goals. Junior
attack Keirsten

turnovers along with two groundballs while senior defender Maia
Czarnecki (Oswego, N.Y.) contributed three caused
turnovers, a groundball and two draw controls. Freshman goalkeeper
Sydney
Teeter (Auburn, N.Y.) played all 60 minutes and allowed
14 goals and made four saves to suffer her first career loss,
falling to 18-1 on the season.
Having played at Saints Field a week ago to the day, Lindenwood
came out firing on all cylinders as they scored the first four
goals as part of a 5-1 run through the first 15:57. The Saints
would then respond with back-to-back scores by MacLellan and Davis
to cut it to 5-3 by the 2:00 minute mark before taking that margin
into the break.
The Lions would recover quickly coming out of the half as they
scored the first three goals in a span of 4:34 to stretch the lead
to 8-3. Limestone then finally found its offense as, in a span of
just 11 minutes, scored four of the next five goals to pull to
within 9-7 with 12:01 to play. That would be as close as they would
get, however, as LU scored five of the final six goals to wrap up a
14-8 upset victory.
Jordyn Constance drilled four goals and added three assists to pace
the Lions while Melissa Smith finished with three goals and a pair
of assists. Erin Abbott had two scores and an assist and Amanda

eight goals while making seven saves to improve to 15-3 on the
year.
Limestone is closes out the 2014 season at No. 2 in the country
with an 18-1 overall record and a pair of Conference Carolinas
Championships.
