King's Light & Mount Olive's Akers Represent Named to 2014 Daktronics Division II Softball All-Southeast Region Second Team
Light earns Daktronics Southeast Region honors

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Senior softball pitcher Hannah Light continues to win awards after the completion of her career. On Tuesday, Light was named to the Daktronics Southeast Region second team for the second consecutive season after leading the Tornado to a runner-up finish at the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
At the Conference Carolinas Tournament, Light started all five games for the Tornado, completing four games. The Coeburn, Va., native also registered three shutouts, pitching King into the championship game against the University of Mount Olive. In the tournament, she had an earned run average1.31 while striking 28 in 32 innings of work.

Akers Named To 2014 Daktronics Division II Softball

Akers, a sophomore left fielder from Burlington, N.C., collected 74 hits to become the first Trojan to eclipse the 70-hit mark in a season. Her .433 batting average ranks among the top 50 in the nation. An All-Conference Carolinas First Team selection, Akers was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Conference Carolinas Tournament for the second straight year.
