Barton's Pingyin Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Stephanie Pingyin of Barton has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 5 – Oct. 11, the conference announced today.

The Bulldogs fed off of the sophomore's stellar performances, which propelled the team to two straight-set victories over King University and Lees McRae College; improving their winning streak to five matches. The Christchurch, New Zealand native tallied 35 kills, 14 digs and a .358 hitting percentage for the week.

Against King on Oct. 9, Pingyin would just miss a double-double, as she knocked home 18 kills and dug eight balls. A day later she would post 17 kills and six digs in Barton's win over Lees-McRae.

This marks Pingyin's third player of the week award and second straight. She continues to rank second in NCAA Division II in kills per set (5.02) and points per set (5.47), while ranking eighth in total kills (296).

Also nominated for Women's Volleyball Player of the Week: Hannah Schellenberg (Belmont Abbey), Kristen Dodge (Erskine), Payton Duncan (Erskine), Sami Harting (Erskine) and Yomi Adeyeye (North Greenville)
