Limestone's Machado Named NSCAA Division II Men's College Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, MO. – Limestone junior midfielder Gui Machado has been named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Men's College Player of the Week, the association announce Tuesday.
Machado, a Sao Paulo, Brazil native, led the Saints to a dominant 2-0 record last week behind his nine points on four goals and one assist. In a 6-0 win over King on Oct. 14, Machado notched his second first-half hat-trick of the season, scoring all three goals within the first 17 minutes of action, and adding an assist later in the half. For an encore, Machado would score the go-ahead goal in the Saints' 3-1 win over Barton three days later.
A two-time Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, Machado currently ranks third in both points (27) and goals (12) of the conference statistical standings. The award is Machado's second NSCAA player of the week this season.
