King's Willoughby Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

King's Willoughby Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Lauren Willoughby has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 12 – Oct. 18, the conference announced today.

Willoughby, a Cary, N.C. native, accounted for a total of 31 kills, 19 digs, and 3.88 kills per set en route to a 2-0 week for the Tornado.

The senior outside hitter's double-double performance against Charleston (W.V.) on Oct. 13 led King to a five-set comeback win, as she recorded 17 kills and 12 digs with four aces. Four days later, she registered 14 kills, seven digs and four aces in a 3-0 Tornado victory over Lees-McRae.

Willoughby currently ranks third in Conference Carolinas in aces (31), while also ranking seventh in kills (226) and 10th in kills per set (2.90).
