Belmont Abbey's Schellenberg Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Hannah Schellenberg of Belmont Abbey has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 19 – Oct. 25, the conference announced today.
The Jacksonville, Fla. native had a week of dominant performances, which led the Crusaders to a 2-1 record. The senior outside hitter tallied 77 kills, 41 digs, five aces and a .366 hitting average for the week.
On Oct. 21 at Lees-McRae, Schellenberg racked up 22 kills and eight digs and hit .538 to lead the Crusaders to a 3-0 win. Two days later in a 3-1 loss against King, she notched a double-double with 20 kills and 13 digs. On Oct. 24, competing against the Bobcats once again, Schellenberg finished with a career-high 35 kills and added 20 digs, two aces and hitting .384 to lead her team to a 3-2 victory.
Schellenberg currently ranks second in NCAA Division II in kills per set (4.94) and total kills (435), while also ranking third in points per set (5.37). This is Hannah's third Player of the Week award this season.
