Erskine and King Claim Top Spots in Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet and King Tornado captured the 2015 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball South and North Division titles, respectively, on Saturday afternoon. The Fleet will be the No. 1 seed out of the South, while the Tornado will be the No. 1 seed out of the North in next weeks Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Erskine posted a 15-1 conference record and will be the No. 1 seed in the South, as well as the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Finishing with an 11-5 conference mark, the Limestone Saints will be the No. 2 seed in the South. Round out the South division seeds are North Greenville at No. 3. The Crusaders posted a 10-6 record in Conference Carolinas play.

In the North, King will be No. 1 after going 11-5 in conference. Capturing the No. 2 seed was Barton with a 9-7 mark in conference play. The Crusaders of Belmont Abbey were tabbed the No. 3 seed in the North after going 9-7 in Conference Carolinas action. Rounding out the tournament seeds are Lees-McRae and Mount Olive. The Bobcats earned the No. 4 seed in the North with a 7-9 conference mark, while the Trojans earned the No. 5 seed with a 3-13 record in league action.

The 2015 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship quarterfinals will be held at the campus of the higher seed on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The semifinals and finals will be played at the campus of the highest seed remaining after the quarterfinals on Nov. 14 and 15. The Conference Carolinas Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Game 4:  South No. 1 Erskine vs. North No. 4 Lee-McRae 6:30 p.m.
