Limestone's Malone and Darazi Named Conference Carolinas Women's and Men's Runners of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone’s Allyson Malone and Michael Darazi have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.
Malone, a freshman from Athens, Ohio, placed 22nd out of 122 runners in the USC Upstate Invitational with a 5k time of 19:25.20. Her time was the fastest of all DII runners and bumped Limestone ahead of Wofford, Gardner Webb, The Citadel, and other DI schools in the team standings.
A junior from Anderson, S.C., Darazi had a great performance in the USC Upstate Invitational, placing 61st overall. His 8K time of 28:47.24 saw him beat out more than 30 Division I competitors and run the second fastest time of all Division II runners, helping his team beat the likes of Presbyterian and Gardner Webb in team standings.
