No. 1 Seed Erskine Wins 2015 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship
HIGH POINT, N.C. – For the second straight year the Erskine College Flying Fleet have been crowned the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Champions. The Fleet beat the Limestone Saints to capture the 2015 title. Erskine moves to 22-6 overall, while the Saints drop to 19-7 on the year.
The opening set would be highly competitive between the two South Division foes, but Erskine would take advantage of Limestone miscues late in the set to win 25-20. The second set would be all Erskine as they trailed 2-0 early in the frame, but a 25-14 run would secure a 25-16 set victory.
The Saints would avoid a sweep by putting together its best set of play and taking the third stanza with a score of 25-21. However, the Fleet would rely on its championship experience and weather a fourth set rally by the Saints and eventually take the set 25-20 and the match 3-1.
Erskine's win earns the team an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
