Mount Olive and King Ranked in D2SIDA Media Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Mount Olive Trojans and King Tornado both landed in the top 25 of the Men's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, it was announced today. The Trojans come in at No. 5, while the Tornado are ranked No. 18.

The Trojans wrapped up a 2-0 record the opening weekend of the season, which included wins over USC Aiken and Young Harris. Mount Olive would knockoff the Pacers 81-64 on Nov. 13 and follow it up with a 80-66 victory over the Mountain Lions on Nov. 14.

King got the season off on a high note, as the team picked up an 83-69 upset victory over preseason No. 5 Lincoln Memorial on Friday, Nov. 13. A day later, the Tornado would follow the win up with a 93-82 decision over in-state rival Tusculum.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
