Mount Olive Men and Two Individuals to Represent Conference Carolinas at NCAA Nationals
HIGH POINT, N.C. – One team and two individuals will represent the Conference Carolinas at the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. The University of Mount Olive men, Barton men's runner Joel Lagat and Limestone women's runner Sarah Rutto will compete on November 21st in Joplin, Missouri.
MEN'S RACE
The No. 16 nationally ranked Mount Olive Trojans won the men's 10K event and advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship for the fifth straight year. The Trojans compiled 52 points to finish 37 points ahead of second-place Mars Hill and 52 points ahead of third-place Queens. Mount Olive will be joined by Mars Hill and Queens at the NCAA Championship.
Joel Lagat of Barton earned a spot in the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship after posting a 10K time of 33:33.6 to place eighth overall among 160 runners. He is the first member of the men’s cross country program at Barton to advance to nationals since BC did so as a team in 2000. He is the first Bulldog to do so since Ericka Skinner qualified while competing for the women’s program in 2010

WOMEN'S RACE
Limestone's Sarah Rutto became the first runner in Limestone College cross country history teams to qualify for the NCAA National Championships as she ran the women's 6K race in 23:38. The freshman's time placed her eighth overall and also set a new Limestone record.
