12 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Players Earn NSCAA All-Region Honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. - 12 Conference Carolinas women's soccer players were named to the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Southeast Region team, the association announced today.

Of the 12 players honored, four received first team honors, three were named second team and five landed third team recognition. Limestone College placed a league-best five players on the teams, Belmont Abbey College garnered four, while King University, Mount Olive and North Greenville University each had one selection. 

Limestone goalkeeper Mariette Martinez, King midfielder Hulda Sigurdardottir and Belmont Abbey midfielder Jillian Lang and defender Rachel Coutinho were named first team honorees.

The second team featured Limestone defender Millie Shaw, Belmont Abbey midfielder Laura Shelton and Mount Olive forward Nichole Poppe.

Third team selections were Belmont Abbey forward Meghan Philp, North Greenville forward Lindsey Tuten and Limestone defender Ashton Bowles, forward Megan O'Connor and midfielder Emily Ludwig.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athleticconference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount OliveNorth Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
