King's Albertson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University center Ashley Albertson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 14-20, the conference announced today.

Albertson, a junior from Kenmore, Wash., averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the field for the Tornado during a 1-1 week.

Albertson started the week playing 20 minutes in King's 84-61 rout of Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey. She would pour in 13 points and grab four boards to go along with two steals in the contest. In an encore performance against Virginia-Wise, Albertson would notch a career-high 20 points in only 18 minutes of action and tally five rebounds and three steals.

Albertson currently ranks 13th in both points (12) and rebounds (6.4) per game in the Conference Carolinas statistical standings.
