Mount Olive's Blount Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive guard Jaquan Blount has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 14-20, the conference announced today.
A senior from Farmville, N.C., Blount put on a heroic effort in Mount Olive's lone game last week. Blount dropped all 17 of his points in the second half to lead the Trojans to a 94-84 come-from-behind victory over defending Division II national champion Florida Southern. He would added six assists, five rebounds, three steals and a block to his game totals.
Blount's two steals per game ranks third in Conference Carolinas, while his 4.5 assists per game ranks fifth.
