Limestone's Kearse Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 30 - Dec. 6, the conference announced today.
Kearse, a junior from St. Augustine, Fla., had a historic week for the nationally ranked No. 9 Limestone Saints, as she averaged 23.5 points, five assists and three steals per game.
In an 80-71 win over Erskine on Tuesday, Dec. 1, Kearse would become the 14th player in Limestone history to pass the 1,000-point mark when she scored 20 points, dished six assists and nabbed four steals in the victory. She would follow that performance with 27 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 62-47 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) on Dec. 5. The win would mark the first time a Limestone women's basketball team has ever started a season 7-0.
Kearse ranks second in Conference Carolinas with 19.7 points per game and first with 4.1 steals per game. She has won the player of the week twice this season.
