Pfeiffer University Finishes No. 1 in Final NSCAA Rankings; Limestone College Receives Votes
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Pfeiffer University Falcons closed out the 2015 soccer season ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the final NSCAA Division II Men's Soccer National Poll on Tuesday afternoon. Limestone College also received 14 votes in the final poll.
Pfeiffer concluded 2015 with a perfect 25-0-0 record, which included a 4-0 victory over Cal Poly Pomona in the 2015 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship. The Falcons also wrapped up a 2015 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship and a season sweep of the Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament titles.
Limestone closed out its 2015 campaign with a 16-5-0 mark, which included an appearance in the 2015 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. The Saints would pickup a 3-1 win over Carson-Newman in the first round of the tournament before falling to Young Harris, 2-1, in the second round.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
