Conference Carolinas Set for Indoor Track and Field Championships

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Conference Carolinas will host its third annual Men and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 22 in Winston-Salem, N.C. The day’s events will take place at JDL Fast Track, starting at noon this Sunday. Nine of Conference Carolinas’ full members will participate, including Pfeiffer University, marking the institutions first year with the sport.

Indoor Track and Field has gained traction in Conference Carolinas, now in its third year as a sponsored sport. JDL Fast Track has become a part of the track and field tradition, hosting the Indoor Championship for the third consecutive year. The arena is also home to the NCAA Division II National Championships, giving Conference Carolinas student-athletes a glimpse at the national stage.

Taking the title for both men and women last year, Mount Olive is the favored winner for both championships in 2015, based on the preseason coaches’ polls. It’s still anyone’s game, however. Mount Olive, North Greenville, Limestone, and King are all ranked in the Top 5 in the region in the latest USTFCCCA poll. For the women, Mount Olive, Limestone, King, and Converse all appear in the Top 10 in the same poll.
