King's Schreiber and North Greenville's Sessions Named Conference Carolinas Women's and Men's Runners of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King’s Samantha Schreiber and North Greenville’s Ben Sessions have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

Schreiber, a freshman from Gladys, Va., started her King career with a boom, as she picked up a first-place finish at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational. She posted a 5K time of 20.30.35 in the win and led her team to a second-place finish.

A junior from Mauldin, S.C., Sessions finished the Furman Cross Country Classic with a 70th-place overall finish among 296 competitors. Ben ran the 8K event in 26.22.29, which ranked 19th against DII, DIII and NAIA runners. His time also cemented him a spot in the NGU record books, as his time was good for the the third fastest 8K time in school history.

 

Also nominated for Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week: Cassidy Hooper (Pfeiffer), Sharon Kiptoo (Barton) and Kaleigh Roach (NGU).

Also nominated for Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week: Tanner Cook (King), Joel Lagat (Barton) and Chris Laughlin (Pfeiffer).
