Limestone's Martinez Named Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone goalkeeper Mariette Martinez has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 21-27, the conference announced today.

Martinez, a senior from East Stroudsburg, Pa., led the Saints to a 2-0 week after making five saves and posting two shutouts in 180 minutes of action. Her week started with a three-save performance in a 2-0 win over Lees-McRae on Sept. 23. Two days later, Martinez followed that performance up with two saves in another 2-0 win over North Greenville. Martinez's two shutouts on the week propelled the Saints to the first 8-0 start in team history.

In Conference Carolinas, Martinez currently ranks first in goals against (1), goals-against average (0.14), save percentage (0.14), wins (6) and shutouts (6).
