Hicks Named Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King midfielder Chris Hicks has been tabbed the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.
The junior from Gloucester, England led the Tornado to a 1-1 record last week with six points on three goals. Hicks did all his damage in King's 4-0 victory over Concord on September 5, notching a hat-trick in the contest. He got the Tornado on the board in the 28th minute as he netted a cross from teammate Eli Carrasco. He followed that up with a 31st minute goal off an assist from Ryan Murphy and concluded his scoring with another assist from Murphy in the 60th minute.
Also nominated for Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Nathan Regis (Pfeiffer), Nathan Lelievre (Limestone), Andre Cakar (NGU) and Cooper Gaypia (UMO).
