Poppe Named Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive forward Nichole Poppe have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for matches played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.
Poppe, a junior from Youngsville, N.C., led the Trojans to a 1-1 weekend after scoring two goals. She took seven shots, placing three on frame, in Mount Olive’s 1-0 loss to Georgia College on September 4. Poppe’s two goals would come two days later against Goldey-Beacom, as the Trojans won the match in dominating fashion, 4-1.
Also nominated for Women’s Soccer Player of the Week: Miranda Smith (King) and Leah Kennington (Limestone).
