Schellenberg Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey outside hitter Hannah Schellenberg has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.

Schellenberg, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., led the Crusaders to a 3-1 record over the weekend by knocking home 83 kills, digging 74 balls and notching four double-doubles. On September 4, She tallied 15 kills and 17 digs in a loss to Francis Marion and added 14 kills and 15 digs in a 3-2 win over UNC Pembroke. The following day she turned in two remarkable performances, as she tallied 22 kills and 24 digs in a 3-1 win over Mars Hill and then outdid herself with a school record 32 kills and 18 digs in a 3-2 win over Newberry.

Also nominated for Women's Volleyball Player of the Week: Karli Acree (Limestone), Stephanie Pingyin (Barton), Lauren Willoughby (King) and Kenzie Pierce (NGU).
