Limestone's Dance Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Shaq Dance has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 4-10, the conference announced today.
A junior from Garner, N.C., Dance was the catalyst behind the Saints going 2-1 against three of the top five teams in the conference. He averaged 22.7 points on 61 percent field goal shooting, while chipping in 5.3 boards, four assists and 1.7 steals per game.
Against Lees-McRae on Jan. 5, Dance registered 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 73-62 victory. He would follow up his performance with back-to-back 26-point games against Mount Olive and Barton. In the 77-65 win over the Trojans, Dance would snatch four rebounds, dish five helpers and pick five steals to go along with his point total. In a hard-fought 77-74 loss to Barton, Dance added five boards and three assists to go along with his 26 points.
Dance ranks fourth in the conference with 17 points per game, while ranking second in total blocks (24), fifth in total assists (53) and sixth in total rebounds (77).
