Barton College's Street and Pfeiffer University's Chavers Named Conference Carolinas Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Semaj Street and Pfeiffer University's Matt Chavers have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.
Street, a junior from Fayetteville, N.C., competed in the Art and Linda Maillet Open for the Bulldogs, finishing third in the 200m and runner-up in the 60m dash. Street would post times of 22.65 in the 200m and 6.97 in the 60m, defeating runners from Division I East Carolina and UNC Wilmington, as well as Conference Carolinas' reigning Runner of the Week Jonathan Ross of Limestone.
A Culpepper, Va. native, Matt Chavers placed third in the Wake Forest Invitational, with a weight throw of 14.51m. His third-place finish was first among all Division II athletes competing.
