Belmont Abbey College's Thierfelder and Pfeiffer University's Ketchum Named Conference Carolinas Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College’s Liz Thierfelder and Pfeiffer University's ChyAnn Ketchum have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

Thierfelder, a junior from Gastonia, N.C., placed eighth in the 400m dash at the Art and Linda Maillett Open. She was the highest Division II runner, as she ran the event in 1:01.23, which was one second off the school record. 

A sophomore from Four Oaks, N.C., Ketchum, turned in a solid performance at the Wake Forest Invitational. Competing in the shot put, she would place 21st with a throw of 10.54m, which was the best of any Conference Carolinas participant.
