Three Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Teams Ranked in National Preseason Poll; Limestone's Messenger Named Preseason Player of the Year

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Limestone College Saints, University of Mount Olive Trojans and Pfeiffer University Falcons each earned nods in the Preseason Top 15 nationally, it was announced today by Lacrosse Magazine. According to the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II Men's Preseason Top 15, the Saints are No. 1 in the nation, while Mount Olive and Pfeiffer rank 11th and 14th, respectively.
Limestone is eyeing its third straight national championship after going 20-1 overall last season. The Saints made a clean sweep Conference Carolinas by going 6-0 in league play and winning the regular season and tournament championships.
Mount Olive finished the 2015 season 11-5 overall and 4-2 in Conference Carolinas play, which included a runner-up finish to the Saints in the conference tournament championship game.
Pfeiffer posted a 10-5 record during its 2015 campaign and tallied a 5-1 conference record along the way.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
